Ultràchic goes Back to School for the FW 2017 collection.
Continuously self-referencing in the wake of a proven concept, the collection presents the traditionally ironic and vividly-coloured prints the brand is known for, reimagined to take on new forms.
In countless variations, each pattern is original, irreverent, at times even audacious (though never predictable), fun and entirely exclusive. An accent is placed on precious textiles which make up Ultràchic’s feminine wardrobe, such as jacquard, woven Lurex, silk, cashmere, wool, and checks such as glen plaid and tartan.
The colour palette spans from camel to blue, from military green to lilac, from classic black & white up to red. Cross-seasonal volumes create a contrast between Fifties-style silhouettes and more modern lines. Ultràchic transports us to a playful universe from the past, amid desks, teachers and students, our first love and our first real emotions.
Tartan is covered in patches, just like the jackets of American colleges, and formal cuts shape the more serious garments, just like those of a schoolmistress. The prints depict caricatures of different roles, while the trousers in faux leather and bomber jackets evoke the transgressive nature of youth as it contrasts with that of teachers.
Of course the collection wouldn’t be complete without apron dresses and jumpsuits, an absolute ‘must’ for the brand.
